Näyttelijä Hannu-Pekka Björkmanin ja Minna Haapkylän perheessä käytetään Nature Babycare -vaippoja ja yritetään muutenkin tehdä arjessa vihreämpiä valintoja – mutta yksinkertaista se ei ole. Tässä Hannu-Pekan ajatuksia kauppareissulta:

”Lähes kaikista arkisista valinnoistamme voi tuntea huonoa omaatuntoa. Ristiriita oman ja yhteisen edun välillä on jatkuvaa ja todellista. Onko edes mahdollista, että joku omaisi hyvän omantunnon ja nukkuisi yönsä levollisesti vuonna kaksituhattakymmenen? Nelihenkisessä perheessämme valintojen ristiriitoja synnyttävät muun muassa kauppareissut: autolla vaiko kävellen – isompi satsi kerrallaan vai ostoksia useammin pienissä erissä? Entä mitä sinne kauppakassiin valita, tuontikasviksia vai kotimaisia? Reilua kauppaa – mutta onko sekään täysin reilua? Välillä tuntuu, että ainoa täydellinen ekologinen valinta on kotimainen peruna. Kun keräilen pakkasessa perunoita maasta ekopussin revettyä, mietin, mihin olemme menossa. Yritän silti valita ristiriitaisista vaihtoehdoista sen, mikä tuntuu vievän kuluttamistani askel askeleelta parempaan suuntaan.”

Natyssä uskomme, että pienetkin asiat vaikuttavat. Siksi kehitämme tuotteita, joissa käytetään enemmän uusiutuvia, kestävää kehitystä tukevia raaka-aineita. Arvostamme pieniä valintoja, jotka tekevät arjesta lapsille vihreämmän ja paremman.

We’re happy to see that Satu Ruotsalainen and her beautiful twins are doing well with Nature Babycare! They’ve just sent us some pictures and another update.

"Vietimme ihanan Joulun ja Uuden Vuoden uudessa kodissamme Vääksyssä.

Pukki kävi ja häntä ihasteltiin läheltä ja kaukaa. Mila ja Sofia ovat jo isoja tyttöjä 1v ja 8kk, lempisanontoja ovat "Ei käy" sekä "Anna pusu".

Vaipan tarve on jo vähentynyt, sillä potta on tullut entistä tutummaksi.

Yöt sujuvat kuitenkin vielä parhaiten housuvaippojen kera.

Lempiharrastuksia ovat tanssi ja karaoke, lempiruoka lihapullat ja lempiohjelmia Unelmatarha ja Idols. Tässä tyttöjen iloiset Uuden Vuoden terveiset kaikille muille Nature Babycare -vaippalaisille!"

With the new year here, we wanted to check in with Antti and Marika J. who won the one year supply of diapers at the Helsinki Child’s Fair. Here is what Antti and Marika had to say:

"Olimme käymässä Helsingissä Lapsi messuilla 2009 Huhtikuussa ja vierailimme Nature Babycare osastolla tutustumassa vaippatarjontaan ja samalla osallistuimme kilpailuun jossa oli päävoittona 1 vuoden vaipat. Vähän aikaa messujen jälkeen saimme yhteydenoton Nature Babycare toimistolta ja onneksemme kuulimme, että olemme voittaneet kilpailun!

Meidän tyttömme oli tuolloin noin 8 kuukauden ikäinen ja olimme jo entuudestaan käyttäneet Nature Babycare vaippoja niiden ekologisuuden takia. Nyt olemme käyttäneet vaippoja 1,5 vuotiaalla tyttärellämme noin 8 kuukauden ajan ja olemme olleet vaippoihin todella tyytyväisiä. Olemme käyttäneet sekä normaaleja 4-Maxi vaippoja sekä 4-Maxi Plus housuvaippoja. Housuvaipat sopivat hyvin vilkkaalle lapsellemme ja ne on helppoa ja nopeaa laittaa jalkaan. Normaaleja vaippoja olemme käyttäneet tasaisesti koko ajan ja nyt syksyllä vaippoihin tuli uusi joustavampi sauma, joka helpottaa entisestään niiden päälle laittamista. Yövaippana olemme käyttäneet yleensä normaalia 4-Maxi vaippaa ja se on ollut luotettava ja pitänyt hyvin kuivana.

Lapsemme kasvaessa, tulemme varmasti jatkamaan Naty tuotteiden käyttöä, ei pelkästään niiden ekologisuuden takia vaan myös hyvän laadun, hinnan ja valikoiman vuoksi. Yhteydenpito ja asiakaspalvelu on myös ollut kilpailun voittamisen jälkeen todella hyvää ja aktiivista, kiitos teille kaikille Nature Babycaressa!"

The holidays are almost here and we’re staring out of our office onto a snow covered Stockholm. As we start to thin out here at the office, heading home to see family and friends during the holidays, we wanted to take the time to thank you for your support.

We’d like to thank you all for the past year and can’t wait to see what the new year brings. In this past year, we’ve introduced Nature Babycare products in several different countries, including here in Sweden. It’s been amazing to see how well received we have been in all of the countries, of course there is something special about sharing Nature Babycare with all of our friends and family in Sweden.

Several Nature Babycare products have undergone changes, as we constantly work to provide you with products that are healthy for your baby as well as being environmentally friendly. That includes our nappies based on natural materials, or biodegradable wipes, and our toiletries, which are 100% free of parabens, perfume, and dyes. The health of your baby is incredibly important, that’s why we are always researching and developing new ways to improve our products.

Thank you again for all you’ve done, we wouldn’t be where we are without you. Your comments, suggestions, and questions, they all make us better.

Teething can be a frustrating time for any parent. An exciting one, but very frustrating.

Listening to your child cry from the pain of teething often leaves parents feeling helpless. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to keep your baby a bit more comfortable.

Instead of a rubber or plastic teething ring, go organic. Use a wet washcloth (organic cotton is always a good choice) that you’ve kept in the freezer for 20-25 minutes. This will cool the cloth considerably and help soothe the swelling in your baby’s mouth. Always wash the washcloth after use.

You can also gently massage your baby’s gums. Always wash your hands thoroughly before doing so, and be very gentle. And watch your fingers; your baby is starting to teethe.

Keep a wet cloth handy, not for the teething itself, but to wipe your baby’s face. Your baby will end up with more saliva around their mouth during teething and it is important to keep their mouth clean.

In the end, the teething process just takes time, and eventually your child will be feeling better with a mouth full of beautiful baby teeth.

Housuvaipat ovat olleet parasta meidän vanhempien elämässä, sillä ne eivät ole päästäneet yhtään kertaa pissaa läpi yön aikana. Olemme kaikki nukkuneet äärimmäisen hyvin. We’ve had some interesting weather here in Stockholm this week. We woke up on Wednesday to a snow storm. In the middle of October. I don’t think any of us here in the office were ready for that. Luckily, the snow didn’t stick around long and by Wednesday afternoon it was bright and sunny again. Today we have rain.

All this crazy autumn weather got us thinking though, as much as we’d like for the summer sun to stay around, winter is just around the corner.

Even though the calendar says it is only October, Mother Nature doesn’t seem to care, and we have had some cold temperatures. When it gets cold outside, it’s incredibly important to keep your child warm. Here in Sweden it is often said that there is no such thing as poor weather, only poor clothing. There is something to be said for that. We know; we’re just a few hours away from the Arctic Circle.

Keeping your child warm starts, very simply, with dressing them properly. Dress your child in multiple, thin layers. This can start with a layer of long underwear under a shirt, add a sweater and finally a coat and your child will have a good layered approach to braving the elements. By layering you will be able to watch your child’s temperature so that they don’t get too cold. Or too hot for that matter.

Remember, your child just won’t be able to handle the cold as well as your average adult, so a good rule to live by is to add one extra layer of clothing than you would wear yourself. You’ll always be able to take that layer off if need be.

Enjoy the waning days of autumn and be sure to stay warm!

Aiomme jatkossakin käyttää Nature Babycare –vaippoja. Ne sopivat meille parhaiten ja minulla on parempi omatunto, kun en kerran jaksa käyttää kestovaippoja.
