Wipes seem pretty good, but couple of problems:

1) description says \'contain no alcohol\' and \'alcohol-free\', but the third ingredient on the pack is Benzyl Alcohol ??? Confused.

2) \'unscented\' is not entirely accurate as they do smell quite strongly of aloe vera, and that isn\'t the nicest aroma

Response: Thanks for your question and your interest in our products.

1) Our wipes are indeed alcohol-free.
Many personal care products today are marketed using the claim “alcohol-free”.

Many alcohol-free products would appear to non-scientists to actually contain alcohols, as close examination of the ingredient list may reveal compounds such as phenoxyethanol, cetyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol or many other variations.

Strictly speaking, the products are “ethanol-free”. The old term for ethanol was ethyl alcohol – hence the use of the word “alcohol”.

These products are still “alcohol-free”. The reason for the apparent confusion is the difference between the terms used by scientists and those used by the general public. To the layman, beer, wines and spirits, etc. contain alcohol; to the scientist, they contain ethanol. To the layman, alcohol is a single substance, but scientifically speaking the term describes a whole group of substances with differing properties.

In summary, the layman’s “alcohol” means “ethanol”, and products that are “alcohol-free” are actually “ethanol-free”. In cosmetics, ethanol must be listed on the label as “alcohol”, or “alcohol denat.” and any other “alcohols” are different and may be used in alcohol-free products.

In most hygiene products you need to use preservatives to prevent microbiological growth and spoiling of the hygiene products. This is done in order to provide safe products for the consumer, in our case babies that otherwise could be harmed by deteriorated products.

Naty has consciously chosen to use benzyl alcohol in its wipes as preservative due to its environmental credentials as well as its potent antimicrobial properties preventing personal care products effectively from spoiling and prolonging substantially the shelf-life. Benzyl alcohol, like most preservatives, may cause allergenic reactions.
Benzyl alcohol is on the other hand considered to be less allergic inducing as prohibited by the law to use in larger proportions that 1% in any hygiene product and Naty have used in its formulation 0,6%.

In order to make a comparison, other preservatives used very frequently such as metylisothiazolinon / metylklorotiazolinon is considerably more allergenic, potent skin sensitizer, and is prohibited to use in larger doses than 0,0015%.

2) Unscented wipes means that there were no perfumes added to this product. The scent you smell comes from the natural materials we use, such as viscose, in combination with the preservatives.

They aren't moist enough - I have to scrub my babies bottom to make it clean. The taglline says " Go green without giving up performance", but unfortunately the performance is not adequate! I will still use for a quick wipe after wees but am sadly keeping a pack of huggies wipes on hand for messier business. It would be great if you could improve on this.

Response: Thank you for your comment and for taking time to write to use.

We are really sorry to learn that our product did not fulfill your expectations and therefore we would kindly ask you to contact our Customer service, so they can further process your complain.

Not just for babies! If you have sensitive skin and hemorrhoids, use these wipes followed by a dry absorbent tissue left in place. It will change your life for the better!

The Wipe is natural but are the ingredients?

Jan 27, 2014 by Pauline Goerke

I read with interest your efforts to make a 'green' baby wipe. However, when I looked at the ingredients I noted not all of them are free from toxins and some of them are manufactured synthetically. Benzyl Alcohol can induce asthma and cause skin irritation. Sodium Benzoate is the salt from benzoic acid, Propylene Glycol is derived from a petroleum product. Potassium Sorbate is mainly manufactured synthetically. Dehydroacetic Acid is potentially toxic and is recommended not to be used around the mouth. The region this wipe is being used for is around one or two orafices, depending on the gender. I am genuinely looking for a natural baby wipe product, but for my ageing mother who is incontinent. However, I need a more detailed explanation of the ingredients in your product that would satisfy me that it was safe to use for my Mother. Sincerely Pauline

I agree completely with Mandy. I love everything about these wipes and will use them until my daughter's out of diapers, but they don't dispense in a way that allows you to take just one. I've tried different wipes containers, too, to try to make them cooperate but they don't!

Most gentle but the packaging needs work

Apr 29, 2013 by Mandy

I love how gentle these wipes are on my baby's skin. My daughter has eczema and after the company we were using changed their formula it made our daughter break out in a rash every time we changed her. We tried many brands, but Naty sensitive unscented was the only brand that did't cause a rash.

I would love to give them 5 stars, but the packaging needs work. We've been using them for a few months now and every time we go to pull out just one wipe we end up with a handful. They're either sticking together or there's something wrong with the way they're packaged that doesn't allow just one to come out. These would be, hands down the best wipes if they would address this problem.

Response: Dear Mandy, thanks for your kind feedback. We\'re aware of the issue with the wipes that can happen sometimes and we\'re working on improving it. Again, thanks for your kind feedback. Best regards, John at Naty

Fine but need to be more slippery

Mar 24, 2013 by Indra

Worked fine but a bit squeaky on the bottom. Would like them to have a lotion type ingredient that makes them more slippery as it's kinder on a bottom that needs repeated wipes at one time!

Baby wipes

I absolutely love these wipes. When my baby's bottom was red raw I changed to using these wipes and have used them ever since! Not only are they great for the environment, but I can buy them knowing that they will not be full of chemicals and will be sensitive enough for my baby. Thank you!
